Built for J Hay & Sons , for
their own use. Soon afrerwards, with 4 scows in tow, she left
Kirkintilloch with 300 standing on her deck,and another 700
spread across the scows. Unballasted, she rapidly heeled over
and passengers had to jump for their lives. The out-of-control
Moor then hit aother scow loaded with picnickers from Glasgow.
Not an auspicious start to her career and in fact not much
more about her is on record, except her end.
On 23rd December 1915 while on war service with the Admiralty
she foundered in heavy seas while crossing the bar
at the mouth of the RiverTay. Despite two other vessels being
near at had and launching an immediate search, nothing
was ever found of her
