I cannot find any information in either Clyde builders' records or the Merchant Navy Lists for this Dumbarton registered lighter. The only reference I have to her is that contained in a wreck report held on Historic Environment Scotland's Canmore database which records her as a steam lighter and that she capsized and sank on the 5th of January 1869 "about the 3rd perch East of Dumbarton". She was carrying a cargo of coal dross to Dumbarton. Her master, Capt Merrilees, was drowned. The two other members of her crew, John Cameron and Archibald Howat, were rescued by the pleasure steamer "Dunoon Castle"which was heading downriver from Gasgow bound for Rothesay.
